Q. What type of applications does GO-Global support?
A. GO-Global (for Windows) will only support 32-bit applications
that are multi-user
capable such as the Microsoft Office suite.
Q. Does GO-Global support Windows 2003 server or the Windows XP
desktop?
A. Windows 2003 Server, Windows NT and Windows 2000 are currently
supported.
Q. How many users can connect to the server?
A. A single user license can have only one connection to the
server but several
sessions. In other words, you can run multiple applications
with the same user id
or log-on. Licensing is based on concurrent usage so users
can connect from
different stations or locations but only the allotted number
of licenses can be
checked out.
Q. Can I publish or control my entire PC desktop?
A. No, GO-Global is optimized to publish applications only.
If you need access to the
entire desktop, you can use Terminal Services in parallel.
Q.
Do I need to install GO-Global on the same system as my web server?
A. No, your web server may be a separate server. You will, however,
need to copy
across the web files provided during the GG installation
and modify them to
reflect the address of the GO-Global server.
Q.
How can I obtain version & diagnostic information?
A. On the server, reference the following log file: “C:\GraphOn\GO-Global
Server\Log\aps_xx.html”log. Look for File Version and Platform
Build Number. On
the Windows client, the ‘Help -> About’ screen
will tell you which version is in
use. All GO-Global events & diagnostics are logged to this
file.
Q.
Are the GO-Global clients compatible with a newer or older release?
A. The client software should always match the server
version. If you are using the
ActiveX control or Java client, the software will
always be updated to reflect the
latest client software. If you are using any other
client, you will likely have to
upgrade to avoid a version mismatch. Backwards compatibility
(to an older
server) is not supported.

Q. Do I have to install or use a specific web server to use GO-Global?
A. Neither product requires a web server. The web server is useful
for distributing the thin client software and utilizing our Java
client.
Q. How can I tell which version I am running?
A. On the server you can issue the following command: # /usr/local/graphon/bin/Xgo
–version. On the Windows client, the ‘Help -> About’
screen will tell you which version is in use.
Q.
Where can I find GO-Global diagnostics & log
files?
A. The primary server diagnostics are logged to a file called ‘gold.log’ in
the /usr/local/graphon/etc/ directory. Specific session information
is logged in a “hidden” sub-directory of the users’ home
directory to the following file: $USER/.graphon/session-logs/goglobal-{hostname}:x
Q. Can I customize my license (file)?
A. A DEMO license should not be modified, as it already is unlimited,
open and applicable to ANY server or hostname. Any changes to
the license file will typically make the license invalid. A PERMANENT
license is already pre-configured for your system(s) by our license
generator. Any changes to this license file will also make the
license invalid and a rehost form will be required.
Q. Where can I find pricing to get more user licenses?
A. You can send an e-mail to sales@adapt-india.com. If you indicate
your location, you’ll be automatically routed to the corresponding
representative in your area.
