Adapt Adds Quotation Mgmt Module To Its CRM
By Neha Agrawal
Delhi, Aug 17, 2005

If sales and marketing executives are looking for a solution, which could help them maintain their tedious and time consuming quotation lists and proposals then Adapt Software Limited has just about heard their call. Now at the click of a button quotations can take the form of invoices, price lists, catalogues and more that too as and when required.

Speaking to CXOtoday, Ashish Kamotra, CEO, Adapt India said, "Quotation Pro+ helps in generating, managing and retrieving quotations and proposals. The software helps maintain all proposals centrally. The content is accessible to all others in the organization besides the sales executive who has created it or if he is out with his work."

Quotation Pro+ is designed and customized especially for Indian small and medium businesses. It can be used to assemble orders quickly and generate quality looking quotes and proposals on-demand for complex products. The new module makes it easy for sales executives to keep track of entire sales cycle as well as all old quotations.

According to Kamotra, "We are in a continuous process of adding more and more enterprise class functionality to our Adapt CRM application. Quotation Pro+ is one such module. It helps in improving resource, time, and technical expertise management. It aids in administration of the proposal development process."

Existing invoices can be used to generate new quotes for repeat business or similar orders. Companies can write, view, print, and e-mail their quotations with complete ease for they are generated in MS Word, PDF or HTML format. Further, text lines, terms and conditions, etc., can also be added to explain the offer, set discounts, surcharges or apply freight charges. One can apply a discount using a percentage, or a fixed amount.

Quotation Pro+ supports the competitive bid sales process and complex activities associated with long pre-sales phases. Users can make changes, save and re-modify saved quotes time and again as per the changing customer requirement.

The entire quote can be copied if one is bidding the same specs to multiple customers. The quotes generated can also be tracked on the basis of their status - open, won, lost etc., for the purpose of follow up and analysis. It provides ready access to information on previous bids and proposals for the proposal manager and his team to utilize this knowledge for current bids.

"The best part of Quotation Pro+ is that it eliminates the creation all cumbersome format of proposals. One can easily search, paste, or revert to the existing ones. Also, we do not have to recall the long and different quotation prices," said a business development manager of a private limited company who did not wish to be named. The company plans to target the manufacturing units and product centric companies.

Though currently the module is available as an add-on to its CRM application, the company has indicated that in the near future, it will be available as an independent software.
